Charge up those wireless headphones and put your favourite podcast, audio book or playlist on. The time will fly by and you will accomplish more than you could have imagined! This is especially helpful if you’re finding your motivation lacking and your to do list is growing by the minute.
Following on from the above, but you don’t need to use headphones for this one! Blast that music and dance from room to room. The music will inspire you to keep your pace, and you can take it a step further and challenge yourself to finish tasks before the song runs out!
Life admin can be tiring. If you’ve been meaning to return some calls or finalise some details with your bank or insurer, cleaning is the time! Use headphones and let the person on the other end of the phone keep you company as you finalise the dishes or fold your laundry. Multitasking whilst completing your housework will have you feeling so accomplished!
For the bigger tasks like wardrobe cleanouts, moving house, or spring cleaning sometimes it helps to have a helping hand or a voice of reason. Invite friends or trustee family over to help you keep on track and provide an extra set of hands to lighten the work.
Try to balance housework with a reward! If you use Saturday to do your housework, enjoy a meal out with friends afterwards. Set yourself a goal of how much you want completed, and plan your reward to encourage you to keep going.
