Why we went with Enzyme cleaners

Why We Chose Enzyme Cleaners

Being a large team of professional cleaners, we were exposing ourselves and our clients property to a wide variety of chemicals. After long periods of time, common household cleaning chemicals can be damaging to your health due to their harsh ingredients. This got us thinking, how can we protect ourselves and our clients while still proving them with a perfectly clean house or office? There were plenty of cleaning products on the market that promise you a spotless clean without any effort from you, however, they are horrible for your health. We did not want to compromise anyone’s health for the sake of a clean house.

After several years of trying and testing different cleaning chemicals we found the perfect solution – enzyme cleaners. Although enzyme cleaners are not new technology, they are not commonly known/used within the industry, especially at the time we brought them into our team. The best way to describe enzyme cleaners would be to compare them to magic! They melt away stubborn grease, grime, urine and many other stubborn stains without any use of elbow grease.

Now for the science: Bio-enzymatic cleaners are cleaning products that use good bacteria. These bacteria ‘digest’ wastes, soils, stains and malodors. The bacteria do this by producing enzymes specifically designed to break down certain soils into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces become “food” for the bacteria. The bacteria continue to grow and continue to consume the soils until their ‘food supply’ diminishes (the soils are gone). You can then wash away the left over enzymes or you can leave them there in order for them to continue to work against new waste that appears on the surface

To sum that up, these cleaners produce good bacteria that break down waste and grime without the use of harmful chemicals – resulting in a perfect clean and no damage to your family or the environment. With all enzyme cleaners they require dwell time to sit and break down all soils before you are able to wipe/clean them away. We recommend 5-10 minutes.

Now the word bacteria can sound scary as we often think of them as bad/disease causing. However, not all bacteria are bad, in order to be healthy you need good bacteria within your body and your environment to prevent the spread and growth of bad bacteria! The bacteria within these cleaners are not ‘alive’ and do not grow and spread around your house. They simply eat away the bad bacteria and waste before being cleaned away.

Here are some of the benefits to using enzyme cleaners:

  1. They are often safer for the environment and human health compared to your store bought house hold cleaning products. As our enzyme are naturally occurring flushing them down your drain will not have a negative effect on the environment.
  2. The (micro) bacteria can penetrate into the smallest of places and eliminate soils and malodors that traditional chemicals often cannot remove.
  3. The bacteria and enzymes are left as residuals and can keep working for up to 80 hours after application, continuouly working to remove any waste or soils.
  4. Through natural competition for food and resources, “good” bacteria can help to displace “bad” bacteria, which will in turn  benefits your family or workplace’s health.

Enzyme cleaners are great in various cleaning applications. They can be used as general surface cleaners, bathroom cleaners, carpet & fabric spotters, odour eliminators, and more. Enzyme cleaners are one of the most effective bathroom & toilet cleaners on the market as they can eliminate malodours from urine by physically breaking down the source rather than masking the smell. They can also penetrate into grout, removing soils or maldours that may have found their way in there.
